history

A forerunner of the later district (administrative and judicial authority at the same time) was created at the end of 1850, the district administration Rzeszow was subordinate to the government area of Kraków and included the following judicial districts:

  • Judicial district of Rzeszow
  • Tyczyn Judicial District
  • Głogow judicial district
  • Stryszow judicial district

After the announcement in 1854, on September 29, 1855, the Rzeszów District Office (still responsible for administration and jurisdiction) was established within the Rzeszów District.

After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.

The new political district of Rzeszów was formed from the following districts:

On September 15, 1896, the judicial district Strzyżów was spun off from the district and joined the newly created political district Strzyżów .
