Buczacz district

Location of the district of Buczacz and the district of Horodenka in the crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria

The district of Buczacz was a political district in the crown land Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria ( Galicia ). Its territory comprised parts of eastern Galicia in what is now western Ukraine ( Ternopil Oblast , Butschatsch Rajon and parts of Monastyryska Rajons and Tlumatsch Rajons ). The seat of the district administration was the city of Buczacz (today Butschatsch ). In November 1918, after the collapse of the Danube Monarchy at the end of the First World War, the Buczacz district was briefly part of the Western Ukrainian People's Republic .

It bordered on the north by the district Podhajce , in the northeast on the district Trembowla , on the east by the district Czortkow , in the southeast of the district Zaleszczyki , the south by the district Horodenka , in the southwest of the district Tłumacz and west by the district Stanislau .

history

After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.

The new political district of Buczacz was formed from the following districts:

• Buczacz district (with 24 municipalities)
• Monasterzyska district (with 28 municipalities)
• Parts of the Budzanów District ( Bielawińce , Bobulińce , Kujdanów , Medwedowce , Nowostawce , Osowce , Petlikowce Stare , Petlikowce Nowe , Pielawa , Kurdwanówka , Janówka , Podlesie municipalities )
• Parts of the Jazłowiec District ( Pomorce , Pyszkowsce , Rzepińce , Trybuchowce , Zaleszczyki Małe municipalities )
• Parts of the Tłumacz District ( Horyhlady , Koropiec , Nowosiółka , Ostra , Przewoziec , Zalesie municipalities )
• Parts of the Złotniki district ( Dobropole , Mateuszówka , Sapowa , Paleśniki municipalities)
