The Ternopol / Ternopil Oblast in 1958

In June 1940, there have already been some changes to the Rajonen from Rajon Bereschze was Rajon Kremenez from Rajon Katrynburg of Rajon Velyki Dederkaly from Rajon Kosiv of Rajon Biloboschnyzja and from Rajon Ustje-Selene of Rajon Koropetz .

However, the oblast was dissolved again after Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, the area was largely absorbed in the Galicia district and could only be restored after the area was recaptured by the Red Army in 1944.

On August 9, 1944, the oblast was renamed in analogy to the renaming of the oblast capital in Ternopol Oblast / Oblast Ternopil .

In 1959 some Rajons were amalgamated, at the end of 1962 there was a major territorial reform, this was corrected again in 1965, at the end of 1966 the Ternopil Rajon was founded, which by and large completed the administrative structure.

Administrative division

The Ternopil Oblast is administratively divided into 17 Rajons as well as a city directly subordinate to the Oblast administration, the Oblast capital Ternopil .
