Scale Podilska (Ukrainian Скала-Подільська ; Russian Скала-Подольская / Scale Podolskaya , Polish Skała [Podolska / nad Zbruczem] ) is an urban-type settlement in Borshchiv Raion of Oblast Ternopil in western Ukraine .
The place is located about 88 kilometers southeast of the Oblast capital Ternopil and 14 kilometers northeast of the Rajons capital Borschtschiw on the river Sbruch . On July 17, 2015, the settlement became the center of the newly established settlement community Skala-Podilska ( Скала-Подільська селищна громада Skala-Podilska selyschtschna hromada ). At that includes also the 11 villages Bereschanka ( Бережанка ) Huschtyn ( Гуштин ) Huschtynka ( Гуштинка ) Ivankiv ( Іванків ) Losjatsch ( Лосяч ) Nywra ( Нивра ) Pidpylypja ( Підпилип'я ) Salutschtschja ( Залуччя ) Trijzja ( Трійця ), Turylche and Werbiwka ( Вербівка ).
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1394, received Magdeburg town charter in 1443 , was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Podolian Voivodeship and in 1772 came as Skała to the then Austrian crown land of Galicia .
After the end of the First World War, the place became part of the Polish Republic (in the Tarnopol Voivodeship , Powiat Borszczów), was occupied by the Soviet Union during World War II from 1939 to 1941, and then by Germany until 1944 , and was incorporated into the Galicia District .
In January 1940 the place was designated the capital of the Rajons Skala-Podilska , which existed until its dissolution in 1962.
After the end of the war the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991. In 1956, the place now called Skala-Podolskaja / Skala-Podilska was given the status of an urban-type settlement .
In 1898 a train station was opened in the village on what is now the Horischnja Wyhnanka – Iwane-Puste railway line.
