Podolia Voivodeship

The Podolia Voivodeship (Polish Województwo Podolskie , Latin Palatinatus Podoliae ) was an administrative unit in the Lesser Poland Province of the Kingdom of Poland-Lithuania . Erected in 1434, it was part of the Polish crown. For a short time (1672–1699) the area was under Ottoman rule . The voivodeship existed until the Second Partition of Poland in 1793. Together with the Bracław voivodeship , it formed the Podolia region . The area is now part of Ukraine .

The voivodeship had an area of ​​about 17,770 km².

The seat of the voivode was Kamieniec Podolski , and the regional assembly of estates ( Sejmik poselski i deputacki ) also met there. In addition, the assembly of estates ( Sejmik generalny ) of the Ruthenian countries in Sądowa Wisznia (Ukrainian Sudowa Wyschnja , Судова Вишня ) was sent from Podolia .
