Solotnyky (Ukrainian Золотники ; Russian Золотники / Solotniki , Polish Złotniki ) is a village in Terebowlja Raion of Ternopil Oblast in western Ukraine about 34 kilometers southwest of the Oblast capital Ternopil on the Strypa River.
On July 28, 2015, the village became the center of the newly founded rural community Solotnyky (Золотниківська сільська громада / Solotnykiwska silska hromada ). At that includes also the 20 villages Bahatkiwzi (Багатківці) Benewa (Бенева) Burkaniw (Бурканів) Hajworonka (Гайворонка) Hontscharky (Гончарки) Hwardijske (Гвардійське) Kotusiw (Котузів) Malowody (Маловоди) Nadritschne ( Надрічне) Pantalycha (Панталиха) Pidruda (Підруда) Rakovets (Раковець) Sapowa (Сапова) Zarvanytsia , Semykiwzi (Семиківці) Sokilnyky (Сокільники) Sokoliw (Соколів) Sosniw (Соснів) Vyshenky (Вишеньки) and Vyshnivchyk .
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1459 and initially belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania (in the Ruthenian Voivodeship ); town charter was granted in 1485. From 1774 to 1918 it belonged under its Polish name Złotniki to the Austrian crown land Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria and from 1854 to 1867 was the seat of a district administration in the Tarnopol district , after which the district was divided into the Trembowla district, the place itself came to the Podhajce district .
After the end of the First World War, the place became part of Poland (in the Tarnopol Voivodeship , Powiat Podhajce), was occupied by the Soviet Union from 1939 to 1941 and then by Germany until 1944 , and was incorporated into the Galicia district.
After the end of the war the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991. From January 1940 to the end of 1962, Solotnyky was also the center of the Solotnyky Rajons of the same name , in 1984 the town's rights were revoked and it was downgraded to the status of an urban-type settlement ; since 1991 the place has been just a village.
