Tłumacz district
The Tłumacz district was a political district in the crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria . Its territory included parts of eastern Galicia in what is now western Ukraine ( Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast , Tlumach district and parts of Tysmenyzja district , Kolomyja district and Monastyryska district ), the seat of the district administration was the Tłumacz market . After the First World War , Austria had to cede the entire district to Poland .
It bordered in the northeast on the Buczacz district , in the southeast on the Horodenka district , in the south on the Kolomea district , in the southwest on the Nadwórna district and northwest on the Stanislau district .
history
After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.
The new political district of Tłumacz was formed from the following districts:
- Tłumacz District (with 26 municipalities)
- Tyśmienica District (with 26 municipalities)
- Parts of the Monasterzyska district (municipalities Bobrowniki , Dołhe , Jórkówka , Komarówka , Ladzkie , Łuka , Międzygórze , Nowosiółka , Petryłów , Rożniów , Strychanće , Trościaniec and Uście Zielone )
- Parts of the Halicz district ( Miłowanie and Olszanica municipalities )
On November 1, 1897, the Ottynia judicial district, announced in 1895, began its work.
The Tłumacz district consisted of 67 municipalities and 60 manor areas in the 1910 census and covered an area of 952 km². In 1900 the population had comprised 108,806 people, in 1910 116,066 people lived here. The majority of the population lived in the area with Ruthenian colloquial language (72%) and the Greek Catholic faith, while Jews made up around 8% of the population.
