The Aerodromo de Muchamiel ( Valencian : Aeròdrom de Mutxamel ) is an airfield in the province of Alicante . The airfield is located about 10 kilometers north of the city of Alicante in the municipality of Muchamiel on the Costa Blanca .
Mutxamel Airport was opened in 1984 and is currently the main base of the INAER Helicopters Group and Helicsa Helicópteros . The airfield is also home to the Avialsa fire fighting pilots , the Foresma helicopter brigade (Forestal Mediterránea) and the Alicante Aeroclub .
The airfield is approved for general aviation with ICAO code: LEMU. The operator is the private company Aeródromo Mutxamel SL
