Bóbrka district
The Bóbrka district was a political district in the crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria . Its territory included parts of eastern Galicia in today's Western Ukraine ( Lviv Oblast , Raion Peremyshliany and Zhydachiv Raion , Raion Pustomyty and Mykolaiv Raion ), seat of the district administration was the city Bóbrka . In November 1918, after the collapse of the Danube Monarchy at the end of World War I, the district was briefly part of the West Ukrainian People's Republic .
It bordered in the northwest and north on the Lviv district , in the northeast on the Przemyślany district , in the southeast on the Rohatyn district and in the southwest and west on the Żydaczów district .
history
After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.
The new political district of Bóbrka was formed from the following districts:
- Bóbrka district (with 41 municipalities)
- Chodorów district (with 45 municipalities)
- Parts of the Żurawno district (municipalities Bortniki, Czeremehów, Holeszów with Łapszyn, Uruskie, Wierzbica)
In the 1910 census, the Bóbrka district consisted of 95 municipalities and 84 manor areas and covered an area of 890 km². In 1900 the population was 79,390; in 1910, 88,527 people lived here. The majority of the population lived in the area with Ruthenian colloquial language (70%) and the Greek Catholic faith, while Jews made up around 11% of the population.
