The Peczeniżyn district was a political district in the Habsburg crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria . Its territory included parts of eastern Galicia in today's Western Ukraine ( Lviv Oblast , Raion Kolomyja and Rajon Kosiv ), seat of the district administration was the market Peczenizyn . After the First World War , Austria had to cede the entire district to Poland .

The district bordered the Kolomea District to the north and east, the Kosów District to the south and the Nadwórna District to the west .

history

The district was created on June 15, 1898 when the Peczeniżyn judicial district left the Kolomea district. On January 1, 1907, the Jabłonów District Court, announced in 1899, and the Jabłonów judicial district of the same name are established.

The Peczeniżyn district consisted of 22 municipalities and 22 manor areas at the 1910 census and covered an area of ​​496 km². In 1900 the population had still comprised 43,258 people, in 1910 46,794 people lived here. The majority of the population lived in the area with Ruthenian colloquial language (87%) and the Greek-Catholic faith; Jews made up around 9% of the population.
