Lopuschnyzja (Ukrainian Лопушниця ; Russian Лопушница / Lopuschniza , Polish Łopusznica ) is a village in Staryj Sambir Rajon in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine . The place is located 21 kilometers northwest of the district capital Staryj Sambir and 99 kilometers southwest of the oblast capital Lviv on the Katynka stream (Катинка). The border with Poland runs immediately west of the town.

The village and Katyna belong to the Starjawa district council .

The place already existed while it belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania as part of the Ruthenian Voivodeship (under the name Lopusnica ), from 1772 to 1918 it came to the Austrian Crown Land of Galicia , where it was subordinate to the Dobromil District Commission . After the end of the First World War, the place came to Poland and from 1921 was officially in the Lemberg Voivodeship , Powiat Dobromil , Gmina Starzawa . During the Second World War, Lopuschnyzja was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR by the Soviet Union from September 1939 to June 1941 and then occupied by Germany (incorporated into the Galicia district ) until 1944 .

After the end of the war, the place was again added to the Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Union and has been part of the independent Ukraine since 1991.

Until 1950, the village of Lopushanka (Лопушанка, Polish Łopuszanka ), whose inhabitants were resettled in eastern Ukraine , was west of the village in the immediate vicinity of the border .
