Pidhajtschyky ( Ukrainian Підгайчики ; Russian Подгайчики Podgaitschiki , Polish Podhajczyki ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Lviv Oblast with about 2000 inhabitants (2006).
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1389 and initially belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania . Subsequently, the village belonged as Podhajczyki to the Austrian Galicia , District Authority Rudki until 1918 , after the end of the First World War the place came to the Second Polish Republic ( Lemberg Voivodeship , Powiat Rudki, Gmina Hoszany). In the Second World War from September 1939 to June 1941 Pidhajtschyky was occupied by the Soviet Union and then by Germany until 1944 , which incorporated the place into the Generalgouvernement , District of Galicia .
After the reconquest by the Red Army in 1944 and the end of the war, the town was added to the Soviet Union , where it became part of the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of the independent Ukraine since 1991.
geography
Pidhajtschyky is located in the Sambir district east of the city of Rudky on the Vysnya ( Вишня ), an approximately 100 km long tributary of the San . The Rajonzentrum Sambir is on the highway N 13 to reach to about 29 km in southwestern direction. The Lviv Oblast Center is about 50 km northeast of the village. On October 29, 2017, the village became part of the newly founded township of Rudky (Рудківська міська громада / Rudkiwska miska hromada ), until then it formed the district council of Pidhajtschyky .
