The village, first mentioned in writing in 1349, has been administratively part of the municipality of the city of Rudky in the north-east of Sambir Rajon since October 29, 2017 . Until then, the village had formed an independent district council .
The village is located on the bank of the Dniester , 8 km south of the Rudky community center , 34 km north-east of the Sambir district center and 56 km south-west of the Lviv oblast center .
In the pre-war period, the place achieved a certain fame as a place of pilgrimage for the miraculous image of the Blessed Mother, which is said to have been made spontaneously on glass in 1937.
