The Toledo Infantry Academy

The Infantry Academy of Toledo ( Spanish : Academia de Infantería de Toledo ) is a training center for infantry officers and NCOs of the Spanish armed forces .

The academy was founded in Toledo in 1850 and, after a short time in Madrid , was located in the Alcázar of Toledo from October 17, 1875 . In 1887 the building burned down. In 1931 and 1936 it was merged with the Cavalry and Administration Academies . It was destroyed again during the siege of the Alcázar of Toledo in the Spanish Civil War. After the war it was temporarily relocated to Saragossa until the construction of the current building, which began in 1941, was completed in 1948.

In 1974 it was merged with the School for Arms Use ( Escuela de Aplicación del Arma ).
