Infantile macromastia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Infantile macromastia (lat. For "child breast enlargement") is an enlargement of the mammary glands that occurs in childhood . The cause is usually the abortive maturation of individual egg cells . Treatment is not necessary as the breast formation usually regresses within a few months. However, a medical check-up is useful in order to identify any further estrogenic features.

A McCune-Albright syndrome (syn. Fibrous dysplasia ) with ovarian cysts , signs of estrogenisation, café-au-lait spots and bone cysts must be excluded from the differential diagnosis .
