The album was released with a new band logo. You can see a bursting skull, which was later used in variations as a recurring motif on the following albums.

Music style and lyrics

The online portal Classic Thrash describes the songs as “very consistent, but also a bit repetitive; the band's own style is fully developed, although the nasty vocals seem somewhat reserved ”. The quality of the LP recordings is less clear than that of the EP. Daniel Bukszan notes in the book The Encyclöpedia öf Heavy Metal that the album has poor sound quality, but you can clearly hear the aggression and enthusiasm of the band. Martin Popoff writes in his book The Collector's Guide of Heavy Metal Volume 2: The Eighties that the album is characterized by excessive hardness and too high a playing speed. He also complained about poor production.

reception

Guitarist Euronymous named Destruction as the inspiration for his band Mayhem and called Destruction's early albums "masterpieces of black, stinking metal". The Rock Hard took the debut album of Destruction to the list of the most important pioneers of Black Metal on.
