Inferno Ridge
Coordinates: 79 ° 27 ′ S , 84 ° 8 ′ W
Inferno Ridge is a narrow 8 nautical miles (approximately 15 km) long ridge in the West Antarctic Heritage Range . with an altitude of over 1000 meters. It rises between the Schneider Glacier in the west and the Rennell Glacier in the north, the Larson Valley to the south. In the north of the Inferno Ridge, near the point where the Schneider and Rennell Glaciers meet , is Orheim Point .
Inferno Ridge got its name from the Geological Expedition of the University of Minnesota in 1963/64, which explored this area because the area is very fragmented and consists of black rock.
