history
In 2012 the Frankfurt Database Days were planned. They took place in March 2013 near Frankfurt am Main. As a result, in spring 2014 the magazine “Informatik Aktuell” was founded. The magazine went online in summer 2014.
Informatik Aktuell is one of the open knowledge specialist magazines. All articles are freely accessible. It appears weekly with an online edition. Between 20 and 25 articles and reports on specialist topics are published every month.
The magazine is cross-financed by an annual conference, the IT days in Frankfurt. The conference will take place in Frankfurt am Main in the congress center of Messe Frankfurt in the second week of December. Her focus is on digitization, computer science, IT security, software architectures and software development as well as new database technologies.

Informatik Aktuell mainly deals with topics of digitization, informatics and software development: application development, design patterns, software architectures, methods in application development, high availability, databases, big data and topics from the project management area such as agile software development. Further topics are IT security, DevOps, big data and cloud computing.
conference
The annual conference of Informatik Aktuell magazine takes place every year in the second week of December and consists of a conference program lasting several days with an accompanying exhibition. It is held under the name of IT Days in the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt and was initially aimed at a technical audience such as software architects, database architects, developers and administrators. The areas of digitization, IT security, project management, agile software development and software architectures are now further focal points, for which there are separate theme days as part of the conference.
