Information systems for monitoring sex offenders at risk of relapse are used to record and monitor released sex offenders who are under management supervision . Here, the general interest in prevention contrasts with the informational right of self-determination of former perpetrators. Different standards are criticized.

United States

In the United States , the data will be released in a way that allows citizens to find out if there are convicted sex offenders in the neighborhood. In Germany, however, the demand for such a measure was classified as unconstitutional by the Federal Constitutional Court in 2017 in its judgment on the second NPD ban proceedings .
