Inge Troch

Inge Troch (born February 24, 1941 ) is a mathematician and former professor at the Institute for Analysis and Scientific Computing at the Faculty of Mathematics and Geoinformation at the Technical University of Vienna .

Life

Inge Troch received her doctorate in 1966 from the Vienna University of Technology with a thesis in the field of control mathematics. Before she was appointed university professor for control mathematics and modeling and simulation in 1975, she spent several guest stays abroad, including in Bologna , Italy. In Austria, she held courses in Vienna , Linz and Krems . Inge Troch was head of the Institute for Analysis and Scientific Computing at the Faculty for Mathematics and Geoinformation at the TU Vienna. She has been retired since 2006.

During her time as an active researcher, she was a functionary at the following institutes and bodies:

  • Austrian delegates in the IFAC Technical Committee (TCs)
  • Chair of the VDI / VDE-GMA committee
  • Chair of the IMACS-TC
  • Organizer of the conference series “Mathematical Modeling- MATHMOD Vienna”
  • Member of the IPC (the organizer of ~ 60 international symposia and congresses)
  • Member of the editorial board of C-TAT (Control-Theory and Advanced Technology)

Troch is the founder of the journal “Mathematical and Computer Modeling of Dynamical Systems” and is still employed there as Editor-in-Chief. Although she retired more than 10 years ago, she is an active member of international committees of various organizations such as Mathematics and Computer Simulation (MATCOM), J. Intelligent and Robotic Systems (JIRS) and Surveys on Mathematics in Industry . Inge Troch is a senior member of the IEEE.

Research and publications

Troch has written more than 100 publications in scientific journals and books in the fields of control mathematics, modeling simulation and robotics. She is the co-author of two books including “Robot Control 1991”.
