Ingeborg Clarus (* 1917 ; † 2003 ) was a depth psychologist and author.

Ingeborg Clarus was a lecturer at the CG Jung Institute in Zurich and a training analyst for depth psychology at the Psychoanalytical Institute in Stuttgart . As a representative of the analytical psychology according to Carl Gustav Jung , Clarus was considered a connoisseur of symbols , her research focus was the relationships between external and internal reality in dreams, cultural history and especially in myths .

She was the author of books and essays on topics at the interface of psychology, religious studies and comparative mythology , she was known for her contributions to Celtic , Egyptian and Greek mythology and the meaning of acts of sacrifice . Her monograph Celtic Myths is regarded as a standard work on the psychoanalytic interpretation of Celtic mythology in the area of ​​tension between the matriarchy-patriarchy problem, it was published several times and was translated from German into Czech.
