Ingeborg Schmitz
Ingeborg "Inge" Schmitz (born April 22, 1922 in Berlin ) is a former German swimmer .
At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the German freestyle relay with Ruth Halbsguth , Leni Lohmar , Ingeborg Schmitz and Gisela Arendt won the silver medal behind the Dutch women. Over 100 meters freestyle she was eliminated in the preliminary run.
Ingeborg Schmitz started for the Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 . She won the German championship title over 100 meters freestyle in 1938 . In 1939 and 1940 she won the 400 meter freestyle.
