Igmārs Līdaka

Ingmārs Līdaka (born August 13, 1966 in Vecumnieki ) is a Latvian zoologist and politician of the Green Party .

biography

Līdaka studied biology at the University of Latvia . The drafting of the Red Army and the state upheavals from 1990 onwards prevented a degree . From 1989 he worked at the Riga Zoo, where he became head of the public relations department in 1992. In this role he worked closely with television. He is the author of a variety of educational films and books on wildlife and nature conservation. In 1995 he joined the Latvian Green Party. In 2001 he was elected to the Riga Council. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Saeima , the Latvian parliament.

He is married and has two children. More than 40 species of birds and other animals, some of which are rare, live on his farm in Vecumnieki .
