Ingo Herbert
Ingo Herbert (born April 10, 1960 in Wolfsburg ) is a German diplomat .
Life
Herbert studied law , philosophy and theater studies . After the second state examination in 1987, he initially worked for Volker Hassemer , the Berlin Senator for Cultural Affairs. Herbert is married and has two children.
career
In 1988 Herbert went to the preparatory service for the higher foreign service and worked in the Foreign Office from 1989 . This was followed by stays at the German embassies in Moscow (1991–1993) and Tel Aviv (1993–1996). Then he worked again in Germany. In 2005 Herbert first became permanent representative of the German embassy in Dar es Salaam , Tanzania . In 2008 he was appointed Permanent Representative to the Embassy in Pretoria , South Africa . In 2015 Herbert took over the German Consulate General in Lagos , Nigeria . Since 2018 he has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Burkina Faso , based in Ouagadougou .
