Opera around

Opera around is an artist ensemble that performs opera works in everyday rooms, such as B. in an outdoor pool, a nursery or in front of a supermarket. These rooms are transformed into stages on which the opera events take place. The aim of the ensemble is to bring opera closer to people who have so far had no affinity for it.

“Oper rund um” was founded in 2011 by the Austrian opera director Anna Katharina Bernreitner and the Austrian conductor Raphael Schluesselberg.

  • 2017 Lower Austrian Culture Prize : Acknowledgment Prize from the Province of Lower Austria for the founder of the Anna Katharina Bernreitner ensemble in the "performing arts" category
