Ingo Meller

Ingo Meller (born October 11, 1955 in Cologne ) is a German painter and art professor.

Career

He studied at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences with Stefan Wewerka , Daniel Spoerri and Eduardo Paolozzi , worked as a freelance artist in Berlin, New York and Cologne and has been professor of painting at the Leipzig University of Graphic Art and Book Art since 2004 , where he also lives and works .

Ingo Meller paints oil paint on canvas that is attached directly to the wall. The dialectic between pictorial content and value on the one hand and the banality of canvas, paint and brushstrokes on the other is made visible in his painting.
