Argonavis from BanG Dream! ( ア ル ゴ ナ ビ ス フ ロ ム バ ン ド リ Arugonabisu furomu Bandori , spelling ARGONAVIS from BanG Dream! ) Is a multimedia project of the Japanese group Bushiroad and is part of BanG-Dream! - franchise .
history
In mid-May 2018 it was announced that a new project was in progress. Accordingly, the three voice actors Shūta Morishima , Seiji Maeda , Daisuke Hyūga , who are all connected to the HiBiKi agency, announced that they would play a concert under the name Argonavis . The group, which was later expanded to include Masahiro Itō and Shohei Hashimoto , released three singles between February 2019 and January 2020, which were able to position themselves in the Japanese singles charts . One of these three singles is a split single with GYROAXIA, which is also part of the franchise. The first independent single from GYROAXIA was released on June 10, 2020.
Since 2019, a manga series has been created by Kō Nakamura , who is already involved in the main franchise, with illustrations by Kyohei Miyajima . The manga is published by Bushiroad and belongs to the Shōnen genre. It was also announced at the beginning of November 2019 that an anime television series would be produced. Around the same time, the development of a smartphone game was announced, the plot of which is based on the events of the anime series. The title of the game is Argonavis from BanG Dream! AASide .
In June 2020, a light novel series was started that deals with the band GYROAXIA.
concept
Although Argonavis from BanG Dream! officially the BanG-Dream! -Franchise, said project creator Takaaki Kidani that both projects will take place in different universes and locations, so that a coincidence of both franchises is ruled out. While BanG Dream! Set in Shinjuku , Tokyo , Argonavis is located in Hakodate in Hokkaidō Prefecture . The intended target group is male and between 12 and 40 years old.

Anime
On November 5, 2019, it was announced that the project would be implemented in the form of an anime . This is created at Studio Sanzigen , which also realizes the anime for the mother project, directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori , who was also involved in the anime productions of Trinity Seven and A Certain Magical Index . At the time of the announcement, however, the format had not yet been determined.
The format of the anime as a television series was announced in late January 2020 and was scheduled to start on April 10, 2020.
Video game
At around the same time as the anime was announced, the development of a mobile game was also announced. Hikaru Miyoshi , who does the character designs for the anime television series, will also be in charge of character design for the game. The game was originally supposed to be released at the end of 2020, but the release date has been postponed to early 2021 in order to further develop the game and provide a better product.
