Ingvild Hedemann Rishøi (born August 24, 1978 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian writer. She became known with stories and children's books, for which she has received several awards.

Life

Rishøi made her debut in 2011 with her story Historien om Fru Berg , which was nominated for the Brageprisen . In 2013 she received the Per Olov Enquist Prize , among other things for her ability to approach her protagonists “through her great knowledge of human nature and the delicate balance between empathy and sensitivity”. The jury praised her as a "really original and distinctive writer."

In 2014, the book of short stories Vinternoveller ( Eng .: Winternovellen ) was published, for which it was awarded the Critic's Prize for the best Norwegian book and the 2015 Book Blogger Prize in the same year . In addition, the work was nominated for the Brageprisen in the categories "Fiction" and "Open Class", in the latter also an award. For the first time a book was nominated for two categories of the Brageprisen. Rishøi donated the prize money to the environmental organization Natur og Ungdom . Rishøi is the first winner of the Bjørg Vik Prize, which she received for the anthology Noveller i samling 2007-2014 .

In addition to Øyunn Rishøi Hedemann, Ingrid Røise Kielland and Marianne Røise Kielland, Rishøi is the editor of Avsagd Hagle . From 1999 to 2003 she worked as a journalist for the newspapers Dagbladet and Dagens Næringsliv .
