Ingwe ( English Ingwe Local Municipality ) was a municipality in the Harry Gwala district , KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa . The seat of the local government was Creighton . Nomangungu Luzulane was the last mayor. The ANC last provided the majority in the local council.

The community was named after the isiZulu word for "leopard". In 2001 the population was 100,548 on a total area of ​​1,970 km².

The only town in the parish was Creighton.

The municipality was merged with the Kwa Sani Local Municipality to form Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma municipality in 2016 .
