The Pro Grafschaft e. V. (short: Pro Grafschaft) is a group of voters in the legal form of a registered association (eV) in the Grafschaft Bentheim district in Lower Saxony. The initiative was founded in 2006 and took part in local elections for the first time in the same year.
Alignment
The official aim of the association is to offer the citizens of the Grafschaft Bentheim a form of organization that enables them to represent and have a say in all communal matters in freedom and independence. The task of the association is seen in the promotion of relevant local politics independent of party affiliations and group interests. Furthermore, more direct democracy and closeness to the citizens is called for.
There is no connection to the right-wing extremist pro-movement .
Voting shares and mandates
The Pro Grafschaft initiative has had two seats (previously one) in the district council since the municipal elections in Lower Saxony in 2016 . It has four (previously two) seats in the council of the district town of Nordhorn .
