Inclination

With inclination (from latin inclinare , (back) tend ',' tilt ') is defined as:

  • in astronomy and space travel the angle between the orbital plane of a celestial body and a reference plane, see orbital inclination
  • in geophysics the angle of inclination of the earth's magnetic field to the horizontal, see inclination (magnetism)
  • in geology the angle of inclination of a rock layer or formation to the horizontal, see falling
  • in dentistry the angle of inclination of a tooth to the plane formed by the lower jaw
  • in medicine leaning forward z. B. of the head, see inclination (medicine)
  • in architecture a slight inward inclination of columns and walls, see inclination (architecture)
  • in epistemology, an objective interpretation of probability, which is particularly used in quantum theory, see propensity
  • in mathematics also the slope of a function, for example
  • the inclined orbit for satellites
