Innerberger barrel

The Innerberger Faß and the Vordernberger Faß were Austrian measures of volume. They were used as coal measures in particular in Styria . Named after the places Innerberg, today's Eisenerz and Vordernberg . Both places were important settlements of large iron works .

Both dimensions differed by a Viennese mason . The former was 5, the latter 4 Wiener Metzen. A Metzen had about 79.86 liters, according to another source about 61 liters

  • 1 Vorderberger barrel = 4 Metzen (Wiener) = 7.78 cubic feet
  • 1 Innerberger barrel = 5 Metzen (Wiener) = 9.73 cubic feet
