As instant products , semi-finished foods are called, which are usually made of powder, granules or dried ingredients and are mixed with a hot or cold liquid. The cooking in the preparation is not necessary. The products are instantly soluble and do not tend to clump.

Word origin

The adjective instant [ ɪnstənt ], which means "immediately" in the German "immediately" or, is a loan word from the English language . It originally comes from the Latin instans (for "forthcoming") and can also be found in German as a physical term instantaneous with the meaning "related to the (measuring) moment".

Products

The term instant product was initially used rather rarely and only in connection with powder.
