Institut des textes et manuscrits modern

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Institut des textes et manuscrits moderne is a Paris-based scientific institute for the study of the genesis of writer's manuscripts , which is tied in equal parts to the Center national de la recherche scientifique and the École normal supérieure .

The reason for the establishment of the institute was the acquisition of Heine manuscripts by the Bibliothèque nationale de France and their cataloging.

The research focuses on the one hand in the evaluation of the manuscripts of famous writers of the 19th and 20th centuries, such as James Joyce , Marcel Proust , Jean-Paul Sartre or Friedrich Nietzsche , and on the other in methodological and theoretical discussions such as the practices and techniques of writing .

In addition to evaluating the manuscript, the institute collects materials such as notes and diaries and relates them to the manuscripts so that the stages in the elaboration of the text are reflected.
