Institute for Composite Materials

The Institute for Composite Materials (IVW) is a non-profit research institution of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate on the campus of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern . It deals with the research and further development of possible applications of composite materials based on polymer matrix systems.

The institute was founded in 1990 and expanded by a demonstration center (DAZ) in 2002. The IVW is one of the nationally and internationally recognized institutes in the field of composite materials and is also characterized by its innovative strength .

The IVW professors represent the teaching of plastics and composite materials at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern.

Award

In 2007 the institute received the innovation award of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in the category "Science / Business Cooperation"
