Tadija Dragićević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Тадија Драгићевић ; born January 28, 1986 in Čačak , SR Serbia ) is a Serbian basketball player who, in addition to his home country, played in Italy in particular and for one season at the German Bundesliga club Alba Berlin. He then played in Ukraine , Turkey , France and most recently for the Montenegrin series champion KK Budućnost Podgorica.

Career

Dragićević began his career in 2004 at Red Star in Belgrade . In 2008 the Serb was selected in the NBA Draft by the NBA team Utah Jazz after he was named Most Valuable Player in the ABA League . The Jazz did not take him under contract, but exchanged the rights to him four years later in the course of a four-team trade, in which the players Mo Williams and Lamar Odom changed clubs in addition to the players , to the Dallas Mavericks .

In the BBL season 2010/11 Dragićević won the German runner-up with Alba Berlin when they were narrowly defeated by defending champion Brose Baskets after five games in the final series . He then returned to Serie A and signed a contract with Angelico Biella after playing for Virtus Lottomatica Roma at the end of the 2009/10 season. For the following season 2012/13 Dragićević moved to the Ukrainian runner-up Azovmasch in Mariupol . After the renewed runner-up with Mariupol, he got a fixed-term contract with Anadolu Efes from Istanbul at the beginning of the 2013/14 season . After this contract expired, he moved back to Red Star in 2014, with whom he was third in the ABA league, but lost the Serbian championship final series against KK Partizan. For the 2014/15 season, Dragićević finally signed a contract in the French LNB Pro A with SIG Basket from Strasbourg .
