Innovation award from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate
The Rhineland-Palatinate Innovation Prize has been awarded since 1988 by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics , and since 2004 together with the Rhineland-Palatinate Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Rhineland-Palatinate Association of Chambers of Crafts.
This award honors companies, research facilities and institutions that have their headquarters / location / residence in Rhineland-Palatinate and develop, manufacture, use and market innovative products, processes or services there.
Categories
A subdivision into the categories "company", "craft" and "cooperation" has been made since 2000. The categories “Special Prize for Industry” were introduced in 2007 and the “Special Prize for the Minister of Economic Affairs” in 2008. Since 2006, corporate partnerships have also been able to apply in the “Cooperation” category. Until 2006 one of the cooperation partners had to be a university or a research institution.
- Companies: Independent companies which, according to the definition of the European Union, are “micro,” or “medium-sized” companies (SMEs) and are members of a Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- Handicrafts: Independent handicraft businesses which, according to the definition of the European Union, are classified as “micro-enterprises”, “small” or “medium-sized” enterprises (SMEs) and are members of a Chamber of Trades
- Cooperation: The subject of the application was developed in close cooperation with a partner, e.g. B. a research facility. This also includes development partnerships with other companies, provided the cooperation goes beyond a classic customer-supplier relationship.
- Special prize for industry: companies that do not fall under the European Union's SME criterion. It is not decisive whether the company belongs to "industry" in the narrower sense.
- Special prize from the Minister of Economic Affairs: Awarded annually with a different topic:
