Instituto Aerotécnico

The Instituto Aerotécnico was a state-owned Argentine research institute for aeronautical engineering. It was founded on October 20, 1943 by law to unite the leading figures in aeronautical research, aerospace development and construction under one roof. It was originally subordinate to the General Directorate for Material Procurement of Fuerza Aérea Argentina . In essence, the institute consisted of the same people, facilities and resources as the Fábrica Militar de Aviones in Córdoba . The institute played an important role in the aeronautical development of Argentina. Kurt Tank , Reimar Horten and Émile Dewoitine played a significant role in the work of the institute . The institute was renamed Industrias Aeronáuticas y Mecánicas del Estado (IAME) in 1954 and later part of the Direccion National de Fabricaciones e Investigaciones Aeronauticas (DINFIA).
