Intel 8279
The Intel 8279 is a programmable keyboard and display interface chip, which for the Intel-8080 / 8085 - and Intel 8088 was designed processors. The module is supplied in a 40-pin DIL housing . He was u. a. licensed to Mitsubishi , NEC and Siemens .
The keyboard part contains an interface for a keyboard matrix with up to 64 contacts. The display part has a multiplex interface for LED displays.
