Inter-American Peacekeeping Force
The Inter-American Peace Force (English Inter-American Peace Force , IAPF ) was approved by the Organization of American States on 23 May 1965, after the intervention of the United States in the Dominican Republic was founded. For the most part, it consisted of over 42,600 members of the United States ' armed forces , plus the following troops from various countries:
- Brazil - 1130
- Honduras - 250
- Paraguay - 184
- Nicaragua - 160
- Costa Rica - 21 military policemen
- El Salvador - 3 staff officers
In 1966, Brazil finally took over the IAPF from the United States and the IAPF was dissolved in 1967.
