Peacekeeping
The term includes political actions that contribute to peacekeeping in a crisis area . A distinction must be made - also with regard to the Charter of the United Nations - between peacekeeping, peacemaking and peacekeeping.
Peacekeeping
Peacekeeping describes the protection of a created peace after a conflict , peacemaking - the creation of a peace - necessary when a conflict has already broken out - and peacekeeping describes the process of securing a peace because it threatens to escalate .
Peacekeeping Institutions
Peacekeeping institutions are the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe , the United Nations Peacekeeping Force , the North Atlantic Treaty Organization , the International Criminal Court and the African Union .
