Udo Fink (lawyer)

Udo Fink (born December 19, 1957 in Saarbrücken ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz .

Life

Fink began studying law at Saarland University in 1978 , which he completed there in 1984 with the first state examination in law. He then worked during his legal clerkship at the Saarbrücken seminar for international law, and in 1987 he passed his second state examination. In 1991, Fink completed his doctorate with Joachim Burmeister at Saarland University . This work received the Dr. Eduard Martin Prize of Saarland University for the best doctorate in law. In 1996 Fink completed his habilitation at the University of Cologne and thus received the venia legendi for the subjects of constitutional law, administrative law and international law.

In the same year Fink took up his first full professorship at the University of Göttingen , where he held the chair for public law and international law, in particular international business law, for four years. In 2000 he moved to the University of Mainz , where he has held the chair for public law, international law, European law and international business law ever since. Since 2011 he has been the deputy director of the Mainz Media Institute . In addition, Fink has been the director of the School of German and Polish Law at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow since 2002 . He has also been visiting professor several times , including at Trinity College Dublin , the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and the University of Macau .

Udo Fink is a founding member of the "Association for the Promotion of German & International Science Law" founded in 1994.

Udo Fink is married and has two daughters.
