INTERCOAST ( Integrated Coastal Zone and Shelf-Sea Research ) is a program to study the dynamics of the New Zealand coast in relation to climate change. The interdisciplinary project examines the socio-economic, legal, geological and, to a lesser extent, marine ecological effects of global warming on the coasts of the island state. The BMBF- funded project started in 2009 as a cooperation between the University of Bremen ( Marum ) and the University of Waikato in New Zealand.
