International Academy of Architecture

The International Academy of Architecture - a non-profit-making company for performing activities for private benefit (IAA, German  International Academy for Architecture ) is a non-governmental non-profit organization with a special status in the UN Economic and Social Council .

The headquarters of the IAA is in the Bulgarian city of Sofia , which is why the official English academy name is used in all documents that are used in Bulgaria in the Bulgarian translation ( Bulgarian Международна Архитектурна Академия ).

The members of the IAA are leading scientists and professors of contemporary architecture from around the world. The working languages ​​are equally English , French , Russian and Spanish .

The goals of the IAA are to promote architectural creation, theory and education, to publicize the members and their work, to promote talented young talent, to deal with worldwide, regional and local problems of architecture and urban planning in relation to the environment and to ensure constant development of civil society. Furthermore, the existing specialist knowledge is to be brought in to support the implementation of programs of the United Nations and its committees. Furthermore, educational and research programs as well as new ideas and concepts in the field of architecture are to be promoted.
