International Academy of Astronautics

The International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) is an international community of experts dedicated to the v. a. has made promoting the peaceful development of space travel its aim. It is a non-governmental organization that was founded on August 16, 1960 in Stockholm by Theodore von Kármán . She works closely with the International Astronautical Federation and national and international space agencies. The IAA publishes the Acta Astronautica journal every month .

President is Peter Jankowitsch , he succeeded G. Madhavan Nair (elected in 2009).
