International Ad Hoc Committee
The International Ad Hoc Committee , or IAHC for short , was one of the first organizations to think about the Internet and the assignment of domain names.

- Federal Networking Council (FNC)
- International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
- International Trademark Association (INTA)
- World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
Result of work
The result of the work was a "Memorandum of Understanding".
It describes a procedure for assigning and managing domain names. Especially for assigning top-level domain names. The "Generic Top Level Domain Memorandum of Understanding" can be signed by any and every organization. This memorandum has so far been signed by around 226 organizations.
The organization was dissolved on May 1, 1997.
Today organizations like POC and ICANN have taken on this task .
