International Council of Community Churches

International Council of Community Churches ( ICCC ) is an association of Christian church congregations of ecumenically cooperating mainline Protestants and independent Catholics. It is the main organization of the Community Church movement . It was created in 1950 from a merger of two other churches, one with a majority white and one with a majority colored membership.

She sees her main goals in supporting the affiliated congregations and encouraging them to engage in ecumenical activities. Further goals are the fight against racism and other prejudices as well as the Christian discussion of the threats of war and poverty.

Its highest body is an annual conference to which each member ward sends two delegates, one of whom can be a clergyman. In 2006, 166 congregations with 110,000 members were united in the ICCC.

The ICCC is based in Frankfort , Illinois , United States .

The ICCC is a full member of the Churches Uniting in Christ , the National Council of Churches in the United States, and the World Council of Churches .
