International Game Technology (IGT) is a United States company headquartered in Reno , Nevada . The company was listed in the S&P 500 share index.
International Game Technology is a manufacturer of one -armed bandits and other slot machines . IGT has a facility in Las Vegas , Nevada and has additional locations across the United States. It also has offices in the United Kingdom , Canada , Australia , Japan and South Africa .
On October 27, 2003, IGT acquired Acres Gaming , a manufacturer of one-armed bandits and games software company, for $ 130 million . Acres Gaming will continue to operate as a subsidiary of IGT.
On August 25, IGT acquired WagerWorks , an online casino software company headquartered in San Francisco , California.
On December 21, 2006, IGT acquired Venture Catalyst Incorporated and changed its company name to Mariposa Software Inc.
On April 7, 2015, IGT was taken over by the Italian lottery company GTECH , which then changed its name to IGT .
