The Moog GmbH is a worldwide occurring companies in the field of high-performance drive systems, high-precision control systems and hydraulics . Moog products and systems are used in military systems, but also in aerospace systems, as well as in many industrial devices with hydromechanical and electromechanical control, such as injection molding systems and metal forming systems.

history

The Moog GmbH was founded in 1966 as a 100% subsidiary and first overseas branch of Moog Inc. founded. Since it was founded, Moog GmbH has continued to develop and is now the largest subsidiary of the global parent company with around 500 employees .

The servo valve , invented by Bill Moog in the USA in 1951 , was initially used exclusively in aviation . It was only about 10 years later that the servo valve was also used in industrial plants. The use of the servo valve made many mass products possible, especially in the field of plastics technology (blow molding and injection molding technology) and metal molding.

In the 1980s, servomotors and servo drives were also added to the company's product range. These were mainly used in robotics and handling technology.

In the 1990s, servohydraulics, hydraulic control blocks and systems, hydraulic pumps, servomotors and drives as well as the radial piston pump completed the product range.
