International Newspaper Color Quality Club
The International Newspaper Color Quality Club ( INCQC ) is a print quality competition for newspapers and has been organized every two years since 1994 by the World Association of Newspapers and News Media WAN-IFRA . Until 2008, the competition was carried out with the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) and supported by the former Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association (PANPA). Successful participants acquire club membership for two years.
description
Since 1998, an average of 175 newspaper titles have applied for membership worldwide. The aim is to improve the reproduction and print quality in daily production in accordance with the DIN / ISO 12647-3 : 2013 standard for newspaper printing. In addition to the satisfaction of the readers, this primarily serves the requirements of the advertisers. In a three-month evaluation period, a number of special control elements or prepared test images, editorial news images or special advertisements are printed in daily production and then colorimetrically measured or visually evaluated by WAN-IFRA . The assessment is carried out by a specialist jury .
QUIZ certification
Furthermore, since 2005 WAN-IFRA has certified newspaper printing companies worldwide according to standardized print production (ISO 12647‑3, ISO 12647‑1, ISO 3664 , ISO 5 ‑3, ISO 5‑4, ISO 2846 ‑2 and ISO 12635 ) in line with the year 2000 Quality initiative for newspaper printing (QUIZ) launched together with the bvdm and the newspaper marketing company (ZMG). This standard ensures that the product is produced in the best possible way in terms of printing technology.
WAN-IFRA Star Club
Newspaper printing companies are also included in the WAN-IFRA Star Club with multiple membership in the INCQC and optional QUIZ certification as a sign of permanently outstanding printing quality.
